Art, Hop & Shop

If you remember the old Benton Harbor gallery walks from years ago, then you are in for a surprise.  The walks have matured into a full blown ÒHOPÓ.  Downtown Benton HarborÕs Art, Hop & Shop now occurs on the last Friday of every month.  The best place to kick-off the night is at the Tabor Hill Wine Tasting Room at 80 W. Main Street.  Sample local award-winning wines and munch on hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Tabor Hill.  From there and in the same building, wander out of the wine room and browse around RichardÕs Retro for quality furniture and dŽcor from the 50Õs, 60Õs and 70Õs.  Also in the same location is Galleria del Corazon which is a unique and eclectic collection of fine original art and jewelry.  From there it is just a couple of Hops to Expressions Art & Gift Gallery, Global Greening Gifts, New Moon Gallery at the historic Citadel Dance Center, Synapse Photo Art Gallery located in the upper level of The Livery and for fine original movie art and memorabilia, check out the alcoves in The State Theater lobby.    The ÒHopÓ usually gets under way around 5:00PM and lasts until around 9-10:00PM.  From there you can follow the crowd to The Livery, Ideal Place, or Chatterbox for more nightlife refreshments and food.
